Youth participation within the framework of the Annual Meetings of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund
Washington DC, August 24, 2015 – On Thursday, August 20 the Global Dialogue in French took place; it had the participation of more than fifty young people representing over 20 organizations from around the world. This dialogue incorporated the contributions of young people in Ivory Coast and Senegal who organized on-site dialogues prior to the event.
This virtual meeting was the first of three Global Dialogues that the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) is organizing and that will feed into a flagship event on youth titled "Young Entrepreneurs as Drivers of Sustainable Growth" to be held at the Annual Meetings of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund on October 8, 2015 in Lima, Peru.
The dialogue was focused on three key questions that young entrepreneurs from around the world discussed:
I) What government programs and policies have been most successful in getting your ideas off the ground?
II) What experiences have shaped your entrepreneurial philosophy, what advice would you give others?
III) How can young entrepreneurs contribute to growth and shared prosperity in the developing world?
In order to make their contributions, young people can access the following channels of participation: Virtual Live Dialogues in English and Spanish and Virtual Consultations in French, English and Spanish.
Also, young people are invited to join the conversations through social media and share their experience using the hashtags: #SoyEmprendedor #YouthBiz #JeSuisEntrepreneur.
