YABT will moderate a panel at the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund Spring Meetings Civil Society Policy Forum
Washington DC, April 13th, 2015 – The Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) will take part of the World Bank (WB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Spring Meetings. YABT will moderate the session: “Women Entrepreneurs Driving Socioeconomic Change. Experiences from the Americas, Tunisia and India” during the Civil Society Policy Forum.(See agenda)
Representatives from NGO’s, international organizations and the private sector will share experiences from the Americas, Tunisia and India on the impact of women-led endeavors to effectively eradicate poverty, bolster entrepreneurship and add value within different socioeconomic contexts.
Valerie Lorena, Executive Director, Young Americas Business Trust will moderate the session. The panel will have representatives from Femmes & Leadership Association and SPECTRA as speakers. Also, there will be an open seat to be taken by people from the audience for short interventions.
The session willalso discuss how strong public-private partnerships are part of the appropriate tools to reduce the gender gap in order to improve the economic and social environment in the reality of different countries. These experiences will spark an interactive conversation with the audience on female leadership to achieve global equality and prosperity in innovative ways.
The Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) leads the efforts for the participation of young people in the Summit of the Americas. YABT’s participation in this session is connected with the 2018 Summit of the Americas process, since it complements our efforts to support the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDG 5 on the empowerment of young women and girls.
