The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT) will train young entrepreneurs and trainers from organizations that support youth entrepreneurship from Belize and Barbados in two Business Labs to be held in March. Both Labs will focus on Cultural Enterprises, and in Belize will take place on March 4-8, 2013 in Belize City at the University of Belize; while the Lab in Barbados will be organized in St. Michael at the University of West Indies Open Campus on March 11-15, 2013.
Business Labs are part of the UNDP project: Youth-Innovation (Youth-IN): A Caribbean network for youth development. The project goal is to promote youth Inclusion, youth Innovation, youth Interest and youth Involvement. The Business Lab, a 5-day workshop focused on Cultural Enterprises, will be conducted with support from, on the national level, Youth Business Trust Belize (YBTB) and Pinelands Create Workshop in Belize and Barbados respectively; and thanks to our international partners, Israeli Government Aid Agency MASHAV, The Golda Meir Mount Carmel International Training Center (MCTC), the OAS and others.
This Workshop will provide trainers and young entrepreneurs with guidance and support to generate viable and creative ideas to assure new businesses in the cultural industry. The Business Lab will stimulate innovation and generate entrepreneurial initiatives that positively affect the society and their community. The Workshop will offer hands-on business experience and guidance in business modeling and planning, marketing and branding; it will evaluate existing ventures to identify and pursue new opportunities.
